Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20th, 2002) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' leading lady earned her fame in late 2010. Rodrigo became a household name following her signing with Interscope Records and Geffen Records in 2020. Her debut single "Drivers License" broke several records and was named as one of the top-selling tracks in 2021. The single was followed by the hits "Deja Vu", "Good 4 U", before she released her first solo studio album, Sour (2021), that received both critical and commercial success and was awarded three Grammy Awards. In 2022, a Disney+ documentary called Olivia Rodrigo: Drive Home 2 U was released that chronicles her creative process in the making of Sour. Rodrigo has two Billboard Hot 100 number one singles and one Billboard 200 number number-one album. She also has five multi-Platinum awards from the Recording Industry Association of America. Alongside her other awards, Rodrigo won the American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainers' Of The year. Billboard named it Woman of The Year in 2022. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo's father, who is Filipino, is her father. Her mother is of German- and Irish-ancestry. Rodrigo began singing lessons in kindergarten, and soon began playing the piano. [12] She started taking singing and acting classes at the age of six. She also began performing in theatre productions at elementary school. [5][1313 Rodrigo began playing guitar when she was 12 years old. [12] She grew to appreciate alternative rock music such as Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Green Day. Rodrigo discovered her love for songwriting after hearing country music, including Taylor Swift.
