Niykee who's had an eventful few years, including being chosen by Snoop to perform with him on the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine despite this. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats delivered to her. The majority of them spark new music ideas. After just five minutes when I'm able to determine if a particular beat is worth it. After that I can get an idea of a whole song inside my head and start writing. When I am playing my guitar on my front porch I begin writing, and words flow. Most of the time it is completed in just thirty minutes. Niykee keeps working on her skills as a poet and lyricist. She says that her experiences of suffering in the past is a constant source of unique motivation. "Even even if I'm not writing about my own life in the open, the sadness of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood are incorporated in my lyrics," she says. The pain of losing my sister, and the memories of my childhood shapes the songs that I create. It is important for me to attach a profound meaning to everything I undertake.
